Sapientia University
Universitatea Sapientia din Cluj-Napoca was established in 2001 as an independent higher education institution of in Romania, with the aim of providing tertiary education and performing scientific research on a high professional level. The mission is to promote universal human and Christian values; to offer competitive, quality education and research, to maintain the transparent and consistent management of the university, and to enforce professionalism and the values of academic spirit; to develop a modern, uniform institutional framework that can meet regional demands; to develop a wide network of partnerships, based on openness, trustworthiness, dedication and reciprocity. The accredited university has 3 faculties: Faculty of Economics, Socio-Human Sciences and Engineering located in Miercurea Ciuc, Faculty of Sciences and Arts located in Cluj-Napoca, and Faculty of Technical and Human Sciences located in Targu-Mures. The University is functioning in four different towns: Miercurea Ciuc, Targu-Mures, Cluj-Napoca, and Sfantu Gheorghe. Each of the four study centres has a specific profile, yet they form together an organic university structure. Sapientia University is an institution promoting high-quality education and competitiveness, striving to meet international standards, and aiming to prepare professionals able to assert themselves following their graduation, either at home or in any country of the European community. The University offers 32 Bachelor Programmes and 12 Master Programmes.
Pedagogical University of Cracow
Pedagogical University of Krakow has taken the lead among pedagogical higher education institutions as the oldest Pedagogical University in Poland. It is exceptional because of its high prestige, professional education, and modernity. The mission of the Pedagogical University is exercised by professional and experienced teaching staff who apply modern and up to date teaching content. It is also expressed through scientific research, outlining new fields of scientific development, transmitting knowledge, and developing and enriching the personalities of its graduates by educating them according to the highest European standards. To our students we offer the latest achievements in the Humanities, and in Social, Educational, Natural, Technical and Art studies. Our educational provision enables students to apply to several dozen fields of studies in first cycle (Bachelor’s) and second-cycle (Master’s) degree programmes, as well as in third-cycle degree studies (Ph.D.), and post-graduate study courses. Currently, during the transformation of the Polish system of education and science, the Pedagogical University of Krakow, together with 19 others out of 430 Polish higher education institutions were given a chance to become a research unit.
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is the largest university in Greece. The main campus is located in the centre of the city of Thessaloniki, and covers an area of about 33.4 hectares. It comprises 10 faculties which consist of 40 schools and 1 single-School Faculty. Some educational and administrative facilities are located off campus for practical and operational reasons. A number of these facilities are located outside the city of Thessaloniki or even in other cities. About 88.283 students study at the Aristotle University, 77.198 in undergraduate programs and 6.588 in postgraduate programs. There are also 3.952 at Doctoral level. There are 1.682 faculty members. There are also 311 members of the Special Laboratory Teaching Personnel (S.L.T.P.). Faculty members are also assisted by 144 members of the Special Technical Laboratory Personnel (S.T.L.P.). The administration office consists of 278 permanent employees and 256 employees under a private law contract of indefinite duration.
Vilnius University
Vilnius University- the largest Lithuanian scientific institution, has deservedly earned the status of a leader in science and research. Established in 1579, the University comprises 13 faculties, 1 institute, 2 university hospitals, the oldest library in Lithuania with a modern Science Communication and Information Centre, the Astronomical Observatory, the Botanical Garden, and the Church of St. Johns. The student body of the University includes an approximation of 21,000 students. Year after year listed by QS World University Rankings among the top four per cent of the best universities in the world, Vilnius University attracts the best and most talented secondary school graduates of the country. VU academic and administrative capacities to implement mobility projects are built on the rich experience obtained from the long-lasting participation in European mobility programs since 1999 in Socrates (later LLP- Erasmus), Erasmus Mundus (2009-2017). Over 210 bilateral cooperation agreements and 1504 Erasmus+ cooperation agreements have been signed to enhance academic exchange and international collaboration and partnership in research and education. Through international engagement Vilnius University enhances the accumulation of the comprehensive knowledge for high quality education, spreading internationalization within the University and seeks to strengthen the University’s academic reputation. Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy is the biggest institution of higher education located in Northern Lithuania and counting more than 70 years of educational experience.
Burgas Fee University
Burgaski Svoboden Universitet (Burgas Free University, acronym: BFU) is a modern educational institution established with an act of the Great National Assembly on 18 September 1991. It is one of the first non-state universities in Bulgaria, established in the biggest industrial and cultural centre in the south-eastern region of the country. Burgas Free University (BFU) has four faculties – Faculty of Business Studies, Faculty of Legal Studies, Faculty of Humanities and Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering. BFU provides training of more than 2,500 students /full-time and part-time/ in 17 Bachelor’s, 33 Master’s and 9 PhD degree programmes. BFU has been cooperating with more than 270 universities and organisations worldwide and has Cooperation Agreements with 63 universities and academic institutions in Europe, Asia, America, and Africa. The University has been involved in more than 70 joint European projects under the Erasmus+, Tempus, the Lifelong Learning Programme, Horizon 2020, Transfer of Innovation, The INTERREG Balkan-Mediterranean programme, etc. The organisation is of medium size with some 140 full-time staff and more than 50 part-time. Among them the academic (teaching) staff is 90 full time and 50 part time.
